Busy Painting

Got the bedroom done ;) and now working on the sewing room. Bedroom celery green, sewing room aqua. Have one more wall in the sewing room will do it tomorrow and then wait for a long while before painting the last remaining room. Want to paint the dora room violet. Then all the rooms we wanted to paint when we moved here will be done.
Spring is here. Hot and humid one day cool the next. Raining today only about 60.
Mowed the whole place last Friday. Takes me 4 to 5 hours. but is done now for a couple of weeks. Weeded the circle and front flower beds. Have a couple of places to weedeat then yard work done.
Busy busy...

Had One Warm Day

Well, it was beautiful yesterday. Just like spring and I got to carry the logs back. My dog a loo Punkin is part Pit and she carries big logs all over the yard. So I carry them back to the wood pile. I would throw them away but Papa cut them so they have to stay.
My neighbor fixed the roof on the shed. The wind had blown it up. And it was a good thing cause we had another storm last night. A cold snap blew in and after the warm day had hard rain, hail and wind. Is cold today and getting colder as the day goes on. Supposed to be down to 29 tonight. WHERE IS SPRING??
Doing laundry today. Changing the bed. General clean up stuff. But would much rather be doing something glamorous.
Hope Tootie feels better soon. Poor baby. I hate that she has the flu and pneumonia. I had it c couple of weeks ago and its no fun. So that's it nothing exciting. Same ole same ole.

I Saw A Robin

I am cold and damp BUT doing the Happy Spring Dance cause I saw my first robin of the season. Therefore, I know spring is coming. And I am so ready for it.
If I complain about mowing or the hot weather, please beat me cause I have been really cold this winter. And have paid really high heating bills.
Dogaloos are fine...fat and sassy. Sparky needs a bath but it's just too cold. And he hates the hair dryer. I have had to fabreez the bed from him sleeping with me.
Been trying to work on my quilt. Have a bit of arthritis in my hand so is slow going. Want to finish it so I can start on my owl quilt.
Nothing much going on. Just same old stuff.

Who knew burn piles could be such trouble

Sure enjoyed the girls this weekend. LOVE my new tattoo!! Thank you soo much Tootie.
I would have never guessed that burning leaves and gum balls would be so difficult. Well, actually it's not the burning that was hard it was the PUTTING OUT. But we finally got it done. L worked so hard raking. She is such a helper girl. She is looking forward to spring so she can do weeding and planting flowers.
I have either got a cold or bad allergies. Not sure which. Head all stuffed up and throat and ears are scratchy. Sinus headache. and general blahs. Also freezing. So hope I get over this soon.
I am so ready for spring. I have a wee hyacynth blooming in the circle. Was so pleased to see it. Sure sign spring hasn't forgotten me. Just delayed by that dumb critter seeing his shadow.
I'm ready for summer clothes so all the world can see my neat body art. When it's cold all is covered.
Keep thinking warmer weather.

Survived the Storm

Well, I survived the big rain and wind storm. It was in the 70's for two days and I loved it. Is very windy and in the 40's today. Makes for quick smoking and sweater wearing.
I was thinking last night. I am really ready to go be with Papa. But who would take care of our dogs and love them like I do? I know K would come here and feed them but they wouldn't get the attention that they do now. I figure I have a 6 dog responsiblity and when they are gone then I can be too. If I happen to go before they do that's ok cause then the universe would be the one deciding. So there is my new epiphany. Such as it is.
Can you believe it, I forgot to water my plants. So I finally did this morning and have to repot two. I may wait until the weather is warmer so I can do it outside, Less of a mess that way. I do need to trim my mosquito plant as it died back a lot
Am making chili today. Decided that would go good with the cooler weather. Been cleaning out the freezer for the dogs. Can't believe what all I had in there. The dogs think it's grand.
Added some more pictures to Leo's legacy page. Found one of him and Dr. Y from the transplant team and one of him on the light flying contraption. Wish I could find the ones I have before the digital ones. Guess they are somewhere in the attic. May try and look this spring.
Like S I am tired of the election crap too. But that is going to be here until Nov.
Gonna go check my kidney beans now. ;)

Warmer Weather

The weather has been warmer. And I am so glad. It is supposed to rain today but be nice for the weekend. That's good because I hope K can help me get the yard swept.
I love the netflicks that K got me for xmas. I am in the process of watching all the back issues of niptuck. And a few wonderful movies.
Have to do laundry and go to the grocery store but may put that off until tomorrow. I am washing a rug that Kissy and Sparkie decided to potty on. I really don't like indoor animals.
I can't believe how furry Panda has gotten. She hates the cold and I guess she has grown all that fur to rpotect her fat body. She is such a lover girl and still "talks" to me about all the indignaties of life.
Made it through the 5 year anniversary of L's transplant. I miss him so much but will continue on until my health gets bad. When I can't take care of the dogs and myself will be time to go join him.
Added some pictures on his legacy site. I hope all that view them will enjoy.

Still Cold Still Dreary

Well the ice storm from Thuesday finally went away. The trees were really kinda pretty with all the ice on them. One had a cardinal sitting in it and was the perfect winter picture. But since I am ready for spring I appreciated but wished for robins and leaves.

Went dumpster diving at my neighbors. She passed away and her kids were cleaning out. Got two buckets for planters in the front yard, two rakes, some old kids dishes like I had to play with and wonders of wonders, I found an old pink toy electric range. Just like one I had. I salvaged it and it is sitting in a place of honor in front of the fireplace.

I really love my gas logs. They keep the family room warm and toasty and I have always loved a fire.

Guess K and the girls are coming up in a couple of weeks. I have three card games to play with L. Fish, Old Maid and Crazy Eights. We should have fun. She likes to play cards and I like to play with her.

Spent most of last night thinking about Papa. Seemed like he was right in the room and had many smiles over memories. We had such fun times and I love reliving them.

Might clean today or might not. Just another fun day here if BFA.

Cold and Dreary

Well, here it is the cold and dreary day in January that I wish was over with. I have been giving the outside dogs extra canned food and enjoy not having to mow grass. But will be very glad for spring.
I am doing laundry and have to put the clean sheets on my bed. At least they won't smell like Sparky dog. He needs a bath but is just too cold. He wears his sweater all the time now and won't go outside without his car coat. Such a spoiled little thing.
I love my gas logs. They make the family room warm and toasty. And I can keep my thermostat set on 60 for the rest of the house. I have such a big house to heat and cool.
Nothing much going on here. Took the trash out to the road for tomorrow and got the mail so that is my "have" to do list.
Got a new small bookcase for Papa's m&m tins. That way I have more room for storage in the plant room. Al my Halloween and Xmas decorations are in there. That was I can keep from going in the attic.
Just sitting here waiting for spring and warmer weather. Hopefully soon.
